They didn't all arrive scratched which I took as a plus. Sometimes it's hard for me to get up, but I hold on very well. I had to clean the back of most of them a bit because unnecessary bits of plastic were sticking right out of the back, but nothing to ruin the look. The star was only removed because I was concerned that the yarn might wear out over time if I didn't have a way to clean it.
