I was amazed at how bright this light was - I wasn't sure what to expect as it uses indirect side lighting rather than a real LED panel. When I turned it on and set the brightness to 100%, I double-checked the specs to make sure it was indeed edge-lit. It really is that bright. Reminds me of a 100 watt incandescent bulb - it lights up the whole room. The panel has a wide range of lights - from 3000K to 8000K, plus a few simple effects - Flash, TV and SOS. The problem with this is that flash and television aren't random - you can clearly see the pattern repeating itself. The TV just flickers with white light - wish I could see the "fire" effect. SOS? Serious? Have you EVER needed an SOS signal in your life AND assuming you've thought "I need my lighting panel to signal ships at sea!" So the effects are essentially useless. Fortunately, the light itself and the white light are well made and the remote control works better than expected. All plastic, including the bracket. The mount flexes, but it's not brittle plastic. A quality mains transformer is included, but the cable from the transformer to the lamp is short - it needs to be hung on a bracket. From plug to transformer 10 foot cable. The kit includes a strap for hanging/fixing the power supply to the stand, but no case or pouch. It's bigger than you think - it won't fit in the Pelican 1600 case, so you'll need to find something big to carry it around safely.
