It hurt me to pay that much for a comforter that I knew my cat would pee on, but that was the whole point and it really saved a life on the Rest of the bedding! Since I have a one bedroom apartment and a cat with health issues, I must do everything I can to protect my furniture. This blanket does the job perfectly! She only peed on it a couple of times in the 6 months or so I've had it, but each time it was a mess and the blankets underneath were dry with only a faint smell of urine. The ceiling looks pretty great too. I personally like it a lot better than others I've tried. It's not my first choice, of course, but I don't mind that he's on my bed. I find it adds a bit of weight, but if that's its worst attribute, I agree. My only warning, based basically on this blanket doing its job so well: if you're using it on an accident animal, you need to get into the habit of doing a smell test. Often there is no visible stain on it, so you may leave it on longer than intended. :-/ But actually this blanket is impressive in its ability to save whatever is underneath!
