Review on HB24 Wireless Video Baby Monitor with Digital Camera - Night Vision, Temperature Monitoring & 2-Way Talkback System - White by Sally Romero

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good price for all features

I've had it for a little over a week. Our other monitor died and we needed a cheaper one. (We have used 4 other monitors - 2 different brands and as I wasn't impressed with the lifespan for the price paid I was willing to try a brand I had never heard of.) This works great for what we see, hear and speak for children. Setup was mostly basic. It was difficult for me to set up the camera that I hung on the wall. Trying to get the camera right on top of the crib without making it look crooked took some work. Night vision: too dark. Sometimes it gets brighter with just one camera, but most of the time it's too dark. always dark when both cameras are scanned. Increasing the screen brightness does not help. - Battery: I like how long the battery lasts. Our old one (Motorola) had to be plugged in all the time and eventually the charging connector detached from the circuit board and became unusable - Small and light: easy to carry from room to room or even put in your pocket - Temperature: not sure how accurate it is ( but I don't know if the old version was right or wrong) - zoom: never used on a monitor (two kids and I'm not worried about my baby's chest moving to make sure they're breathing) - music : never use and that - VOX: cool feature I never had (the screen stays off until the baby makes a noise) but I haven't really used it - the picture: it's pretty clear (unless night vision is on) - Camera: not adjustable from the monitor (was a bit messed up on an old monitor we had), but that's not a problem. I wish you could turn off the screen. The screen does not stay off in scan mode. The VOX setting is cool, but I don't want the screen to turn on at all at night. (A child chats in his sleep) But if you put the screen face down you can't see the light or sound indicator (those things can be surprisingly bright at night and our old ones couldn't hide/cover them easily). The monitor amplifies the sounds with this high noise but I just turn the monitor off/on and it goes away. (It's happened twice so far) I'd say for the price and all the features you get and about $100 less than the brands it was a good buy. So far, so good.
