They were surprisingly comfortable, easy to put on and take off even when wet. Knocking sand out of them is a little difficult, but not critical. The main complaint was that one of the plastic pieces on the ends of the laces came loose the same day I tried them on. It was easy to fix. The plastic part is a self-locking clamshell. I was able to open and close it with a drawstring. None of them came off after that time. I would buy them again
