These can be used with 10 gauge wire but only if you remove the screw that holds the wire normally in place and place, and simply solder the wire in. You will most likely need to place some wires outside of the hole and solder them to the base. Due to the thicker insulation on the wires, you will then need to gently heat the cap to get it in place. I heated mine and carefully enlarged at the base with a Phillips screwdriver to then put it on. This allows for some very nice and thick test leads if, like me and disdain, you're trying to use thinner pre-made wires close to their typical current limit and deal with the resulting voltage drop.
