Damaged Phone: Lightning Cables
The first time I had problems connecting to the phone. Then my phone wouldn't charge. Took it to the city company and was told that the point where it connects to the phone had damaged the phone input and needed to be replaced. Cost: $60. This company also gave me a new cable and it has been working great ever since. He said the damage was caused by a cable entry.
