Best Wireless Mouse for the Money

Logitech has always been known for its wireless keyboards and mice, and this one is no exception. In 2016, Logitech pioneered wireless technology that doesn't interfere with other wireless devices and is as responsive as a USB-connected wired mouse. Since then, Logitech wireless gaming mice have delivered outstanding performance. And this mouse is no exception. Although that might not sound like much given the lack of LEDs, lots of buttons, gimmicks, etc. It's just a pure performance wireless mouse. ** SHAPE ** The shape comes from the G-Pro mouse released in 2016. The shape of this mouse was based on the popular G100s mouse but with the addition of RGB and a top sensor. This mouse has exactly the same shape: double-sided, but with side buttons on the left side only. The shape is perfect in my opinion, it's a lower profile mouse but it still has a bump in the middle for extra comfort. ** BUTTONS ** The buttons are not the best in my opinion. While the left and right clicks are crisp and tactile, they're a bit too tactile for my taste. They're noisy, have too much travel, etc. In fact, they even feel heavier than the original G-Pro keys. The left and right clicks are only rated for 10 million clicks, as opposed to 20 or 50 million like other mice. The side buttons are a little soft due to the LARGE travel but work as expected. The scroll wheel is a bit sluggish but has noticeable steps and is still fairly smooth. Overall, the buttons are decent, but the left and right clicks require more force.**WEIGHT**This mouse weighs approximately 96 grams with the included AA battery. However, you can reduce the weight by using a AAA battery with a converter or even use a AAA battery with foil. But this mouse is very popular in the gaming mouse modding community. I've seen people modify this mouse to weigh less than 70 grams. **LEGS** Feet are standard Logitech mouse feet. A little scratchy but still smooth and fast. Not the worst stock legs I've used. **SENSOR** How does this mouse have such a long battery life? Well, the Hero sensor does exactly that. It uses the second-gen Hero sensor, as the first-gen Hero sensor in the G603 could rotate when hitting a slope, while the second-gen Hero sensor does doesn't. The Hero sensor was developed by Logitech to offer almost the same performance as Pixart's popular PMW3366 sensor while nearly doubling the battery life. It can track from 100 to 12,000 dpi in increments of 50. It has no issues with stuttering, revving, acceleration, etc. It feels just like the PMW3366. It can also be used at: 125, 250, 500 or 1000 Hz polling rate. A truly revolutionary sensor.**SOFTWARE**This mouse can be used with Logitech Gaming Software or G-Hub. I personally use LGS as I find it more stable and easier to use than G-Hub. In the software, you can set profiles, DPI, macros, etc. The only missing option is your lighting options, as this mouse doesn't have any LEDs other than the DPI indicator, which is either white if you're using the normal DPI setting, or amber if you're using the DPI Shift setting. **PERFORMANCE** As I said above about the weight, this mouse runs on AA batteries. However, this means that you cannot use a mouse charging cable or a Powerplay pad. However, due to the energy efficiency of the Hero sensor, you don't really need any of them. In gaming mode, it can work up to 250 hours with CONTINUOUS use. That's 10 days without a break. If you set it to endurance mode, it can last up to 9 months! (Stamina mode conserves battery power by capping the polling rate at 125 Hz.) But they do have advantages over using a traditional battery. First, if you run out of battery or it fails in any way, just replace it. You don't have to send your mouse in for an RMA if the battery dies like you do with the G703. And secondly, they last much longer. Even the G703 with the Hero sensor can last up to 35 hours of continuous use with the lights on, while the G305 lasts up to 10 days. see the difference **SUMMARY** This mouse is a GREAT choice for those looking for a wireless gaming mouse on a budget. You're sacrificing the lighter weight of other mice, LEDs, and other features, but for the price you're paying, you're sacrificing somewhere.
