Review on πŸ“ž Enhanced Call Assistant SD: Advanced Phone Call Recorder for Landline - Desktop Standalone Unit by Larry Cho

This voice recorder is very easy to set up

PRO: This voice recorder is very easy to set up, essentially the same as an answering machine. While the documentation states that the software comes on an included CD, the software actually needs to be downloaded from their website. Installing the downloaded software is quick and easy, and the controls are intuitive. The process of recording both outgoing and incoming calls is completely transparent. A detailed log is kept and individual entries can be flagged to facilitate later identification of a particular entry. While the device was said to come with a 2GB SD card, I had an 8GB SD card which offers more than enough storage space. Recordings you want to keep for a long time can be easily transferred from an SD card to a computer using the included USB cable and XtR software. CONS: The only downside I found was the relatively poor sound quality. The sound is adequate and understandable, but noticeably tinny and muffled, apparently the result of a very low sampling rate. This allows for longer recording times, but reduces fidelity, which is a dubious trade-off given today's high-capacity SD card costs. I didn't try to use the built-in speaker for playback, although its size suggests extremely low fidelity. Instead, I used the XtR software and Bluetooth headphones to play on my PC. The result is very good. However, the XtR needs improvement in sound quality. With improved accuracy this becomes a five star product.
