This versatile Supersonic is loud enough for outdoor listening; good to very good quality of news and music speakers; Even my classic FM radio station sounded decent. Setting it up requires some patience; but once the set is secured in the station, the sound is clear and free of static electricity; there were problems with weaker FM stations; the tuner missed them. (DO NOT test shortwave reception.) Rugged construction; and the included power cord fits really conveniently in the battery compartment. Also powered by 3 D cells (not included) OR built-in battery. Instructions are few, especially regarding the internal battery, charging time, plugging in the power cord, etc. The kit is NOT waterproof and it is not certain that the plastic case will withstand a bump or a fall. 6 LED indicators as well as USB and SD inputs complete this versatile portable device. Priced between $20-$25, it's hard to beat this one! (One last note: since the audio doesn't distort at higher volumes, this could be an ideal choice for people with hearing problems "of a certain age". Just saying.)
