Now the original fog lights were destroyed due to a mistake by Jeep that should have led to a recall but Jeep still refuses to acknowledge the problem . The original lamps melted the reflector, causing the lens to turn black. So I had to replace both units with new ones and to prevent the problem from happening again I installed bus-ready LED bulbs. The passenger side was very easy to swap. It took less than 5 minutes from start to finish. On the driver's side, the replacement was an absolute nightmare as one side of the unit was located just behind the bumper's inner tubular steel structure, making it extremely difficult to get to the T25 Torx screw that was located in the lower right hole. I have big hands so it took me at least an hour to tighten this screw. The other screw was easy as it was in the top left hole that was not covered by anything. To screw behind a joist you literally have to use a ratchet screwdriver to get into the gap. Not only does it help to open the panel. in the wheelhouse cover, but the first two screws along the edge of the wheelhouse will need to be loosened to allow the bottom edge of the cover to be pulled out.
