Adding a sand guard to the bottom of the bucket has helped minimize dirt build up and rubbing against my car. This added feature makes it much easier to rub the underside of the wash mitt against the surface to loosen any dirt that might be stuck to it, allowing us to further minimize the risk of contaminants leaving scratches on the clear coat - if we try , to remove the same most. This was a great addition to my rinse bucket (water only) but I still use a separate soap bucket to make it much easier to keep contaminants on my car paint.
