Korean skincare companies are notorious for changing the formulations of even their most popular, tried-and-true products. This is my fourth bottle of the Missha Time Revolution Essence. The first two were the original formula, after that it was the Intensive Moist and now, it's the 5x Extreme Ferment. I really fell in love with the original formulation and felt the Intensive Moist didn't quite measure up. It's early days, but so far the latest incarnation seems to be superior to both. The first thing I notice is that my skin really drinks it up. The earlier versions were very watery and sat on my skin. It was impossible and pointless to apply multiple layers (aka "skins" in K-Beauty parlance) because it never fully absorbed. This is ever so slightly more viscous and feels a bit more nourishing than I was expecting. The ingredient list is surprisingly short (10 items total) and is packed with brightening actives like niacinamide and two kinds of ferments. With regular use, I notice improvements in both my skin's tone and texture. There's no added fragrance and really no smell at all.A good quality fermented first essence is my ride or die skincare product and if you can't afford to shell out $175 on a bottle of SK-II, this is just as effective. A must have.
