I used the magnetic surface of this mount. It fit easily into one of the air vents in the center of my Corolla Hatchback dashboard. My iPhone 12 Pro Max is simply attached with a magnetic ring. I don't usually use it to charge, although it works. I'm glad it has a USB-C port if I need to connect a charging cable. Basically I just wanted a place to store my phone that was neater than I would normally throw it in the passenger seat or precariously place it in a tiny spot for it under the front console of my car. For that it works very well.
