This monitor has the worst picture quality I have ever seen. The black level is just terrible. No matter what you do, the colors always look washed out. Even after a few hours, the backlight seems to warm up. I've spent the last two hours calibrating it and have come to the conclusion that it's impossible to fully calibrate it. If you set the gamma low enough when there is enough contrast in the text document not to strain your eyes, the extremely narrow viewing angle makes it difficult to read anything at the top of the screen. Turn up the gamma and everything looks gray. Some people say it's okay for the price, but I'm printing this on a 20" Dell E2011H that I bought on the Black Friday sale for $40 (right now I'm seeing a refurbished one for $65 -dollars at Revain) and unlike HP I can actually read what I type without a headache. I don't see this being used for anything other than the bedroom TV. But that doesn't work without an HDMI connection either. I'll end up giving it away. Too bad really. It could have been so much better.
