Review on Children's Replaceable Activated Carbon Filters by Bernard Her

Additional protection: protective masks

I think these filters are worth it. I cut one open and to see if there are 5 layers, an activated carbon middle layer and 2 layers of meltblown material, similar to what you see in surgical masks or N95 masks. In my amateur opinion, after purchasing 7 different types of masks in 5 months and countless hours of YouTube searching, paper research and home testing, I find them quite serviceable. I've run thermal tests on meltblown materials with good results. It repels water well on the outer layer and you can breathe with it fairly easily, similar to the N95 but not as easily as a surgical mask. It also eliminates some odors. However, they aren't constructed like the 3M N95 and don't have the same quality of materials as the 3M N95, so don't expect them to offer the same level of protection. Think of it as a nice extra layer of protection over a sheet or surgical mask. Also, they are not suitable for people with wider faces or large jaws, so take care. Some of the other masks look the same as the ones I bought on eBay, just fakes, but these are good.

Pros
  • No breathing difficulties: compatible replacement air filter contains activated carbon, which effectively prevents haze, car exhaust, pollen and allows fresh air to breathe.
Cons
  • Very expensive
