Disappointed: Tables

Clearly $300 for an entertainment center isn't a price for better materials or design. However, at $300, you can demand honesty in design and overall quality in implementation. You don't get anything with that either. Veneer first. Yes, it is a veneer. It's not mentioned anywhere on the list, but it's not real wood. This is an inferior chipboard. I assumed the "reclaimed" wood was basically post-processed scrap wood. It takes too much. Chipboard is chipboard, nothing more. Veneer, on the other hand, is basically a sticker. It doesn't even pretend to be a real texture. This is equal to or below the quality of Walmart. This is design dishonesty at its finest. Secondly, the chipboard itself is of such quality that significant weights will cause deformation over time. That doesn't mean it's too inferior, it's just the inevitability of chipboard. It's not all bad, mind you. The design itself is very good. The holes matched well. The instructions were clear. Everything went very well. If the materials themselves were better, my score would be much higher. I strongly advise against buying it. After mine was on display for about an hour, the cheap veneer became an insult to my aesthetic sensibilities to endure. I put everything on my front lawn with a 'vacant' sign. It will probably be gone by the end of tomorrow. Free, that's a good deal. For the $300+ I paid, that's not even a fair price; that's a bad price.

Pros
  • Paired with a matching coffee table to complete the set
Cons
  • Big and chunky
