These shoes are custom sized. My son is 22 months with a foot length of 4.75 inches and I ended up buying a size 12-18 months because I felt like 9-12 would be too small despite the size chart. I was right and the shoes fit with little toe room. The sole of the shoe itself is only 5.25 inches, so a child with a 5.5 inch foot will not fit in it. Apart from the odd size, everything is great. They are soft, have a flexible sole and are relatively easy to put on and take off. My son is obsessed with shoes so we wanted something he could wear around the house without messing up the couch and these shoes would work well for that purpose.
