Review on 75 Watt Powered Bookshelf Speakers Bluetooth by Shaneequah Craig

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great price with some downsides

Pros: Inexpensive 5" active woofers, lots of features (bluetooth, optical, analog), good mid/treble clarity with EQ update, fantastic looks Cons: No customer service, bass issues, no subwoofer output, Bluetooth turns on off if left plugged in overnight. I've been using this speaker set for my desktop for a week and after the EQ update the clarity in the mids and highs is very good. Without the update, the sound is not very good. If you are updating your equalizer and are having problems, you may need to try other microUSB cables. Note: The analog accessory cable is not included, but do not use it. You get an audible analog hiss that you don't get with Bluetooth. At $120, this set is a very good value. The sound is good and when you buy it for 120 in the absence of an EQ upgrade it's a steal. The main disadvantage is the lack of a subwoofer output. The speakers can distort low-end attack, and the bass can be muffled/absent on certain tracks. This is honestly not very surprising, but the lack of a way to solve this problem is its biggest downside. If you buy this for $120 it's a good deal, for $150 with no subwoofer out option I'd say consider the subwoofer out if you care about bass. Bass is present but somewhat lackluster, so keep that in mind.

Pros
  • A handy, full-featured remote control for changing the volume, switching between available inputs and controlling Bluetooth music playback.
Cons
  • Hard to say
