This versatile backpack is ideal for travel or picnics. I used it as an 'extra item' on a flight/trip to New England. It fits perfectly under the seat. I really like the two compartments - just make sure the top compartment is closed before you open the bottom one! The bottom compartment is designed to stay cool. We once had a bottle of frozen water leak and although some of the items in this compartment got wet, the compartment itself did not leak. Hooray! The upper part is intended for haberdashery. I put everything in there from chips to crockery to a first aid kit. I love that the top compartment zips closed at the top, making better use of space. The upper compartment also has practical pockets! I used a bungee on top to hold a jacket or picnic blanket. And I love that it also has bottle holders on the sides.
