Don't waste money!

Bought for "Upgrade" from my own flash drive DTSE9 (USB 2.0) 16GB which I have been using for 4-5 years. When I connect it to a Windows computer, it works fine. However, I connect it to a MAC computer and the entire machine is slow. I've tested this on several MACs in my organization (including personal computers) and it's interfering with the USB bus. Unfortunately I need it to work on both. It's sad because I like the faster copy speed of 3.0, but if it slows down the host OS on the MAC, it's essentially useless to me. For what it was worth, just in case people ask, YES I've tried formatting it a number of different ways. Even on a MAC I did it in magazine format. I've tried NTFS (although it can write back on MAC). Tried different block ranges, FAT32, eXFAT, etc. eXfAT turned out to be the slowest. The drive seemed to like FAT32 more than NTFS on Windows machines. From what I've read, many people claim that the drive dies randomly. I don't know if there's a rhyme or reason why it messes up the bus on a MAC, but it might be the key to bad engineering. I have a feeling there is a component on the board that could fail. I don't know what it is because I'm not disassembling a working flash drive. If it dies then I will, and I will definitely reverse engineer it and report the results. I bought a 64GB DTSE9 2.0 a while ago and kept it on my desk. I'll just come back to that or just go back to 16 gigabytes. This is very bad because it was really an upgrade in terms of read speed (not so much write speed) but most of my work is related to reading. I also noticed that the durability is just rubbish. They used thinner aluminum than the original. I took a picture. The one on the left is new after a month of use, and the one on the right is an older version with 4-5 years of almost daily use. The new one had a dent at the bottom after 1 week. I would call it unacceptable. Unfortunately, there aren't many companies that make durable, small flash drives in a metal case. I looked at Samsung and it's too big. This one is also a bit long. I was thinking of returning it, but firstly, I stored some sensitive data on it, and secondly, it got crumpled. I had no intention of violating Revain's return policy even though the product is rubbish and NOT comparable to the original version. Finally, it's still usable, but I'll use it at home or as a backup for "fun" stuff. But don't count on it. All in all a waste of money - not worth it. Durability sucks. Complete hopelessness. Conclusion - I do NOT recommend buying this flash drive.
