I used them to test IC PHY-Layer 802.11g 54Mbps and 802.11nMCS-7 20MHz BW. I had to add built in 10dB pads as the output is too high to go to the RF digitizer resulting in compression. There isn't enough free space under the boards, so these SMA arches work great. There are no insertion loss, BW or VSWR specifications for these SMA taps. However, I measured the chip's EVM and the results correlate well even without the SMA knees built into the RF digitizer. Since EVM is a combined measurement, it is safe to say that the agreement is good and the insertion loss is less than 1dB. Mechanically, the head of the connector rotates freely. This is typical and preferred for my application. So when the RF cable is pulled, it can rotate to avoid damaging my $100+ SMP/SMA RF cables. I have a few of these on the board. If you need a tight connection, use an SMA torque tool. I have one of these tools and they can cost a few hundred dollars and you have to calibrate them every year. I usually only use this instrument when I don't need play or movement when connecting all the HF instruments. Increasing the gain by 0.1dB can also help, but that's very subjective. In most cases, my finger picks up all moves.
