difficult for my 7 year old

My 7.5 year old got this for Christmas. She knows how to knit a scarf and can do a few regular sewing stitches and sew regularly. Given the age rating of 5+ I figured this would be a quick and fun project for her. No, that is not so. It's difficult, requires a lot of help from me (threading the needle as the yarn is thick) and requires careful handling of the yarn or you'll run out of colors. It's slow and requires a lot of thinking and problem solving. I ended up doing most of it (as an adult I find it fun. At 7.5 it's too hard). I probably recommend ages 9 and up.
