Review on Beauty Creations Color Pro Palette Makeup by Melanie Lang

Great option for those looking for a solid everyday palette

I have to say that I am very surprised by this product. I ordered it with a bang because it's fairly new (I think it only came out earlier this month) and I thought at $16 it was worth a try. For the record, I recently ordered the BH Cosmetics 120 palette and while I love it, I just wasn't impressed with how little product you get. A month later I had already used half of one of the lenses of the same color. So I wanted to find a palette that not only offered neutral shades that I would use every day, but also came packaged with a decent amount of product and not in an easily breakable box because many "budget" palettes come with junk. Package. The package arrived on time, it was a Ruby palette and a Jasmine palette and it was well protected with a crazy amount of bubble wrap. The palette itself also comes in a layer of bubble wrap in the product packaging, which I thought was a nice touch. So everything arrived safely, healthy and on time. The outer shell is hard plastic with a decent lid that snaps open, so I don't think this palette is going to crack or fall apart any time soon. Sure, if it's kicked or dropped it should survive, but something like sitting on it or actually putting pressure on it (a la airport hell) will likely bend the center and snap something inside. As for the actual eyeshadow, it's a great mix of matte and shimmery shades, with different shades of light matte eyeshadow for different skin tones rather than just a single "light" shade, a nice selection of matte mid-tones, and a few ash tones of dark brown. There are also a few shades of orange that are fun. As for the shimmer, it's an accessible palette so the shimmer doesn't feel like the shimmer of the Urban Decay shadows, but it's really decent. Shimmers do well against bigger brands. In terms of texture, all shades were very oily and easy to blend. There were only two, a medium tone and a light matte shade, which weren't perfect, but the light tones are notorious for not being oily in the palettes available. This is perfectly normal, be aware. In terms of wearability, I was able to wear the eyeshadows without foundation during moderate activities with very little transfer or fading. However, they do not fade! As with all shadows, apply a primer to keep things in place, but overall great color payoff, great texture, and very decent longevity. And I just want to say that I was really looking for a square cup palette that would go well together. . Companies that use round trays often do so to use less product (makes general business sense) but I don't like buying products where I'm getting less to save pennies, so square trays are a good palette size (it's quite big). and the solid packaging with awesome shades of eyeshadow made me want to splurge. the Ruby palette versus the Jasmine palette in general.
