These shorts were worn in a group for awards at a dance competition. They were adorable and really made the girls stand out. They are true to size, and flare at the leg. Which in my daughter's case, was a good thing as she has thighs and hips. The length was perfect, not too short. Other than her complaining that she was hot in them, she loved them. I would take into consideration that she had just competed, and then changed into the shorts so she was probably still cooling off. We would buy them again.
