Like a theater in front of a stadium

We bought one of the children's book shelves in my husband's office and it's great. When I saw this toddler bookshelf I thought it would go well with the table books in our youngest child's room. However, there are two main problems with this.1. The construction is a bit wobbly. Several holes were drilled slightly outside of where intended, making assembly difficult. As I started sliding into the G (bottom) I found that the orientation of the B (front) was wrong enough that the G couldn't slide into the recess in the A (side) pieces. (See attached image.) I was finally able to get it to work by removing the B, attaching the G, then reattaching the B and it at least assembles itself. But that's just an example. Many holes are wrong. But like I said, at least it's assembled. I could have gotten over it if it wasn't for my other complaint. Unlike the larger display case in our office, the toddler shelf only had a bottom section. This means each section is deeper than the previous one. The books at the back just get lost in the black hole. (It had to be made as a taller shelf: with two shelves, one for the back pieces higher than the front pieces. In case you're wondering, the back of the toddler shelf is at least the same as the back compartment on the taller shelf B. If I did that next time I'm in the office I'll have to measure.) I'll see if there's something I can do to make the books sit in the two back sections so they're visible. The display shelf looks like it has room for your books, but it doesn't. The back book is the same height as the front book of the same size; The only difference is how much of the front is covered by the dividers and books in front of it. So this display shelf is just ok. It's strong enough to support books; that will get the job done. But I'll probably have to rotate the books in each section so I don't end up forgetting those.
