Review on Retevis Frequency Channel Emergency Programming by Jason Robinson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

My favorite purchase of 2018!

I LOVE these radios. They're small, easy to use and LOUD - all for a great price. I work in the childcare industry and in the summer we made at least 2 field trips a week to places like museums, theme parks, playgrounds etc. This made it easier for the staff to communicate. We originally only wanted to create text groups until we found it wasn't always reliable when we ended up in a museum with almost no cell service, no free wifi and a missing child (he was fine!). I bought them straight away based on the price and size and I'm so glad I did. Our staff didn't mind wearing them as they are quite small and light and the volume is high enough that we could hear ourselves even in very noisy places like slot machines. The range was pretty good, we had no problem using it at Knott's Berry Farm. Battery life was excellent. Not waterproof but some have been splashed in the park; They didn't break, the sound was muffled for a while but returned to normal once it dried. And yet no interference! All of our other walkie talkies have always picked up random conversations on every channel we've ever tried. They were so good that my colleagues from other institutions ended up ordering their own sets. My brother borrowed them for mountain biking or hiking and said they work great. The size also fitted well as they hung from straps around the neck and then attached to the front straps of backpacks. I had a couple of batteries low (the radio said to replace the battery. It still worked for the most part but the warning kept coming every few minutes) and I contacted the seller and they replaced it for me very quickly. It is very valuable when the seller stands behind his goods like this.

Pros
  • Thin and Light Radios; Compared to most other walkie-talkies; The Retevis RT22 radio is easier to carry; They won't feel heavy
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks
