It is poorly finished and has things sticking out everywhere, making the edges and bottom very rough. I wouldn't want to put this on furniture you care about because it would scratch them. Also, upon delivery, small parts on it fall apart before we even use it. It's made of coarse seaweed and won't last. This is hard to capture in a picture but the photo I posted gives you an idea of how the pieces stick out on the side.
