In order to use this bite valve I would have had to make the cut so I used the bite valve from the nozzle I was replacing. Both nozzle ends fit well into my platypus tube so that wasn't a problem. I also had a hard time turning the valve on/off . I had another person do it for me the first time. After that it still takes effort but is not impossible.
