Review on Fujifilm X10 Digital Camera F2 0 F2 8 by Sarah Mailyafemail

he produces excellent photographs; just two days ago

Have been using this camera for a long time. If you know how to use it, you will get great photos; Just two days ago, one of my photos was selected for Flickr's Explore, so I'm not totally crazy. At the time of its release, its dynamic range potential was greater than some SLRs; While that's no longer the case, it does give you an idea of the camera's potential. Keep in mind, however, that you'll need to learn a bit about photography if you want to take full advantage of this potential, as the automatic modes (including the "EXR" setting on the dial) can leave a lot to be desired. The camera offers both raw footage and Fuji's trusted .jpg files; Fuji Raw is hard to beat, and since the sensor isn't standard here (typical for Fuji), some apps won't handle it properly (check out RawTherapee!). There are two disappointments. One is the DR 400's inability to shoot with large apertures in bright sunlight. This is when you will need the DR 400 the most, but the maximum shutter speed for the DR 400 is 1/1000. This requires narrowing your aperture, sometimes down to f/7.1 or even f/9, where diffraction becomes visible - not to mention the depth of field. The other is an optical viewfinder. I have nothing against OVF per se; In fact, I prefer them, but the one on the X10 doesn't have an overlay to let you know the focus point, camera settings, etc. Fuji seems to have listened to customer complaints on this as they added a liner in the X20. .But overall I like this camera; I printed 16" x 24" images from it; I created 36 inch panoramas; and I learned a lot about photography.
