I always read negative reviews of products before buying to see if there are any lingering complaints. When I first ordered this product online, I had already used it and was very happy with it. So I was quite surprised by some of the criticisms leveled at him in some reviews. I will address some of the criticisms I have read about the product: - Dust: This product produces almost no dust. I actually installed a small exhaust fan with a filter because every other pen we used, including the old Arm & Hammer, produced so much dust that I thought it was dangerous. I have never had to use a fan with this product. Urine-soaked litter sticks to tray: Yes, I agree this happens, but no worse than other litters I've used. I've found that if you fill the box about 2 inches deep, the filling absorbs and thickens all of the urine before it hits the bottom. If you try to scoop it out right away, you'll end up with a gooey mess. But if you let it sit a bit to allow the filler to do what it's supposed to do, it works great. Darker putty with a finer texture: yes, it is. I was concerned about this when we switched places, so I mixed Slide with our old filler first and gradually reduced the amount of the old filler. The cat has adapted well. And I disagree with the criticism that the cat tracks this litter worse than the coarser litter. I've found the exact opposite to be true - Odor: We've found this fill to absorb odors as well or even better than any other we've used. IF the cat is covering up its mess. received: I have never been able to find this product in a large box in a store. So if you're buying a £19 box I agree you're overpaying and probably need to buy 2 boxes at a time to get enough. But if you order through Revain you can order a £28 box. It's a lot cheaper this way and a box lasts longer. We have used several 28 pound slide boxes and will continue to use them.
