Bought this camera for my wife. She never reads product manuals and with the Coolpix S4000 there is no need to read any manuals. The operation is very intuitive. In terms of image quality, the camera produces very rich colors, razor-sharp images that are well lit. Even when using a body-worn flash, the camera produces good light balance. The camera isn't fast for continuous shooting, but you certainly can't expect that from a point-and-shoot type. The focus motor is a bit noisy in continuous focus mode, which makes the user think of a malfunction. The camera is lightweight, looks cool, and the screen is big enough to enjoy your photos right away. The touchscreen is very sensitive and offers a user-friendly interface by restricting external button presses. The USB port on the camera is used to connect to a computer and charge the battery. A nice feature if you forgot your charger. The only thing I don't like is the game mode. When Playback mode is active, the lens is not protected, making the camera grip a bit awkward. That's why I give this camera 4 stars. Overall, my wife is very happy with this camera.
