I wanted a remote controlled fan for our large living room that would give off more light than the 3-bulb fan we were replacing. Overall, this is a good fan, but after seeing it in person, I realized that the price is too high. Pros: Quiet multi-speed fan, beautiful blades, cool black finish. Cons: If you have 2 switches on your wall be prepared to connect only one switch for power and then control the lights and fan with a remote or cord. My husband is an experienced electrician so this is not the installer's fault. The glow spheres that I received had a dirty bronze look, like the spheres from the 80's, and the metal was chipped off in many places. They looked extremely cheap and dated compared to the gorgeous tropical look of the rest of the fan. So we spent another $70 to buy new globes. So I think we'd better spend $300 right now. It wasn't worth paying the return shipping as the fan wasn't damaged, it just had ugly balls and it was a pain to install.
