I can't get over the fact that the outer layer is just like thick paper. I couldn't help but try to tear it apart with my fingers; luckily it didn't break. My SO says it reminds him of old paper money. I wanted a lighter weight blanket that still feels like a comforter as I'm in my "hot" years - ladies, you know what I mean. There's nothing wrong with sleeping with an extra blanket or sheet underneath this piece, but don't expect it to feel comfortable against your skin. Reading other reviews I see that there were several people who found this particular item including one person. who said it felt like tissue paper, and another said it had been tumble dried in places. But since most say it's soft and comfortable, I can't help but wonder if the materials change from time to time. Anyway, I'm keeping it now and I'm hoping the finish will soften over time and after washing, as one reviewer said. says happened. Being a late night Thrasher I tend to sleep under one of my shifts so I really hope that's the case.
