The TV in my office is a little dated. It only has 2 HDMI inputs. This has been an issue for some time. I "connected" a cable box, AppleTV, Blu-ray player, and Xbox to the TV. At any given moment 2 of these devices are disconnected and I had to physically disconnect something to connect another device. I obviously needed an HDMI switch. A friend suggested I try this TOTU switch. I received my TOTU HDMI Switch a few days ago. It has a simple, functional design that gives the impression of a well-made product. The device has two round buttons on each side of the front panel - a button labeled "Switch" on the left side and a "Power" button on the right side. The toggle button switches the input from 1 to 4. Hopefully the power button is self-explanatory. Also included is a small remote control that allows you to select the input you want. There are 4 HDMI ports on the back of the device. inputs and 1 HDMI output. One benefit of using an HDMI switch is that I now only have 1 cable to my TV instead of 2 cables (in my case) or possibly 4 cables if your TV has 4 HDMI ports. Even if your TV has enough jacks for your AV accessories, the TOTU switch makes connecting to your TV easy as only 1 cable connects to your TV. The TOTU Switch works exactly as described. With the included remote control you can easily switch from one input to another. But there was one feature I wasn't expecting: when I'm looking through my cable box and want to stream something from my AppleTV, I turn on the AppleTV and TOTU automatically switches to the AppleTV input. The TOTU switch always selects the input connected to the powered player. With your cable box, game console, and Apple TV turned on, you can use the remote to select the input you want. When you turn off your game console and AppleTV, the TOTU switch automatically selects the only powered device, the cable box. TOTU is a small device that has completely changed the way I watch TV - and for the better. I no longer have to disconnect and reconnect cables. If you want to eliminate the clutter of 4 HDMI cables going to your TV, the TOTU HDMI Switch can reduce them to 1 cable for a cleaner look. I highly recommend this TOTU switch. Overall this is a great product that solves my problem of having more AV players than ports on my TV. But the reduction in HDMI cables to my TV is a nice added benefit.
