Great design of the outer shell!

We love coffee and use our French press every morning. We recently had to find replacement glass for a Starbucks French Press that was over 15 years old. We found Cafe Du Chateau French Press on Rue Revain. We were won over by the price and the stylish design. When the Cafe Du Chateau French Press arrived, we tried it out and compared its use to our aging Starbuck's French Press. Here's what we liked about this product: (1) Price! A very cheap purchase to get the whole french press at a reasonable price. (2) The outer shell actually insulates most of the glass and helps keep the coffee warmer for longer. The handle is also the perfect size and I feel more confident pouring a glass of coffee using this Cafe Du Chateau's French press rather than the Starbuck holder as the larger body helps hold the glass firmly in place, so it doesn't move. Here's what we've found to be a problem: (1) The plunger tends to leak some coffee grounds into the top of the coffee (2) When pressure is applied to the plunger, it jams and slowly sinks even after the coffee has settled . The grinds have subsided, still an issue. We fiddled with the new plunger/filter assembly for a few days and then just succumbed to using our old Starbuck plunger with the Cafe French Press. I know when comparing two pistons side by side there seems to be a difference in top hem length (Café Press has a much smaller hem than Starbuck's Press). The bottom of the press looks the same as our old one, but something is different because the coffee grounds slide sideways past the new plunger as it presses on the glass. Perhaps the design needs an update to compensate (?). The left picture shows the Starbuck French Press and the right one the Cafe Du Chateau French Press.
