Received my Dowco Iron Rider main bag today. I am very impressed with the quality of the bag. It was well packed. and arrived safely upon delivery. I installed it on my 2012 Triumph Thunderbird. and it sits very securely on the trunk. Velcro fasteners ensure sufficient security. and additional fastening straps ensure even more security. There is no doubt that this bag can withstand touring conditions. My only complaint would be that the expandable side pockets don't really increase the internal volume of the bag. There is a divider. So, expandable side pockets only expand to give you a slightly larger side pocket. So in principle. This bag is the same size as the "Night Light" with additional side pockets. To give you an idea of the capacity of the main compartment. I pack my full helmet in my bag. and there isn't much space left. Maybe enough room for some socks etc. Oh and my helmet is too big. This bag is perfect for night riding. maybe the weekend. But if you do a proper tour. You need to add more pockets. I think I'll consider adding a large roller bag to my setup. What. along with my saddlebags. should give me enough room for my 4000 mile round trip from Boston to Sturgis this year. In general. I am still very happy with this bag. Very high quality. The price is decent. This makes it possible to add extra pockets without breaking the bank. 4 to 4.5 stars from me!
