I ordered the brown version of this bar stool and I was impressed. That was 6 months ago. Last week I ordered 3 more "matching" bar stools. Well, I accidentally ordered the black version. Strongly NOT recommended. My girlfriend is 85 pounds soaking wet and at 5ft 1in she is complaining that the chair is too small and hard. After carefully examining the sizes of the brown and black stools, I actually found that the color was different. dark pecan and has a moderate amount of padding. The actual length of the bar stool appears to be the same, but the incline of the black stool is steeper, resulting in less length when seated. The worst thing about a black chair is the lack of padding. As you can see in the photos, the upholstery of the two colors is very different. PS After looking at the photos, the difference between black and brown is obvious. But I swear ol Mighty, not a single person in the house noticed the color difference. We saw the difference in design.
