This case fitted the laptop great and seemed to protect my 4th gen Yoga X1 from scuffs and scratches. The latches were definitely secure and it took some effort to detach this sleeve from the laptop. Unfortunately, the extra thickness prevented the hinges from opening more than 270°. Also, the lowercase bars were right where I rest my wrists while typing and were annoying but not entirely uncomfortable. The final straw was the lack of far-field mic holes. Microphone performance definitely took a hit, and my laptop went from being a clear-sounding replacement for a conference phone to being a dirty and muffled webcam from the early 2000s when you were anywhere other than directly in front of the laptop. I think a few minor tweaks could solve everything but the thickness issue and that would make it a great case for the regular X1 Carbon. If you don't just want to use your X1 Yoga as a classic laptop and don't care about microphones: I would unfortunately do without it.
