I have 11 parrots in my aviary and use brown kraft paper to line the floor. I recently bought a day old Silky chick and put the same paper in the bottom of the brooder. The heat lamp made the paper very hot, so I ordered Ruspepa white kraft paper to better reflect the heat. It's heavier than my brown paper and feels warm. It works great but my Silkies are 5 weeks old and they figured out how to pierce the paper and start tearing it up. One of them will get a piece in their mouth and all the others will chase after it. Not the newspaper's fault, but a great treat!
