I bought this thinking it was one of the cheap covers that seem to come with just about every car I've imported myself (thin aluminum tubes that just snap over the button to keep it depressed until it is pulled forward). When I saw this part , I was incredibly concerned that the threads would not be the same size as the factory parking brake on my 1987 RX-7. Well, after we removed the plastic covering and ripped off some of the rust from everyone's favorite factory-installed knob over 30 years ago, this thing started spinning. It took a bit of fiddling to get the knot together once it was tightened, but it worked. Street tested, works! Also, this knob is a lot heavier than the cheap aluminum knobs I had to take to take three Skylines off, so I'm really really pleased.
