We have a lot of books and needed a solid shelf to put them on. We had a wooden bookcase that got wet when water entered the basement and the bookcase had to be thrown away. I wanted something with METAL LEGS that stick out a few inches off the ground so that if the water comes back in we can mop UNDER the bookcase and not have to throw it out if it doesn't get moldy in the water. and destroyed. I wanted to be able to dust and use vacuums under the bookshelf for general cleaning. I've followed the marketplace and all over the internet but couldn't find what I wanted. I needed smooth shelves so our books wouldn't get dented by the metal shelves that a lot of people were selling. I was starting to think I would just have to ask my husband to put some caterpillar shelves on the wall until I clicked on Revain and found this bookshelf. It's hard to tell what it will be until you see it, but what a pleasant surprise. The shelves are pretty thick. They are the same as my husband's shelves that are found throughout the house and in closets for storing books, photos, etc. This is the type of shelf that is sold at the hardware store with wall brackets, except you attach it to the bookshelf. They are NOT flimsy or flimsy or MDF. They seem durable and look the same. EVERY hole is PERFECTLY aligned. One shelf had a very small scratch on the bottom but it's not noticeable at all. There were no scratches on the frame parts or other shelves. No calls. Everything is in PERFECT condition except for a SMALL scratch. It took me an episode of Grey's Anatomy to put it together, but I had to stop to feed my baby more than once. I also used a cordless screwdriver with a screwdriver tip to even out any breaks in the breast milk. The instructions were easy to follow and the inventory section of the included parts was VERY helpful. EVERY piece or packet/packet of pieces has been marked. All shelves have reinforced holes where the screws go in. First thing I did was count to make sure all the screws, shelves, bars, etc. were in order. you were Then I collected it. The only part of the build that had me scratching my head for a moment was the rear support bars, until I realized I had to unscrew the 2 side pieces (top and bottom) that were bolted together to assemble the sides. I would also fill the bottom shelf, but the child has an incredible ability to get into EVERYTHING so I haven't decided what to put on the bottom shelf yet or wait for the child to stop emptying the shelves. The bookshelf is STRONG. I would 100% wall mount it for added stability, which I did. I'm actually not good at using wall anchors and I made a few extra holes in my wall to attach them but my husband was sleeping and I didn't want to wait until I filled them in after taking the time to took the assembly. it, so I finally got the wall anchors right. The bookcase comes with security wall brackets and wall anchors (I upgraded the wall anchors but used the brackets that came with it) which was a HUGE BONUS as nobody wants to run to a bracket and wall anchor shop which means they have to wait to be new ones to fill a bookshelf after assembling it before going to the store. The bookcase is light enough that I can carry it from room to room (although not super light and a little uncomfortable due to its height, but that's only because of how STURDY it is), although it's NOT flimsy, which is what I was wearing when I tried to decide where I want to use it. I actually used it in our office/school rather than the basement when I saw how BEAUTIFUL it looks and how well it fits next to the computer desk. The bonus was that I could also put the printer on the bookshelf. Measures just over 12 inches between shelves, approximately 70 inches high, approximately 31.5 inches wide and just under 12 inches deep. matches every room in my house. I'd like an extra one or two, but need to get something smaller. I will look at other shelves offered by the same seller as the quality is very good. After comparing the prices of new and used bookcases all over the internet, the quality of this bookcase and the fact that it is brand new comes with free delivery. Additional costs, the price is good. I would buy more of these if I had the right place to put them and will keep this shelf in mind for the future.
