The keyboard is great. Activation takes a second or two. Once connected, everything is fine. The strap covering the pencil is a little uncomfortable, never sure if it will stay in place. Could benefit from more locking positions. Once the iPad is connected to the base, the magnet holds it securely in place and serves as an additional adjustment. If you only want to use a tablet, trust isn't really an option, the keyboard is always connected. The power and volunteer buttons take a little getting used to, seem to require more pressure which I'm comfortable with. In general, the quality of the keyboard is very good.
