We bought this to teach our lab puppy not to jump when we take him for a walk. I think the ease of connection is a big plus for us. I like that the light on the collar shows it's on. A push of the button on the collar turns it on and off. I like adding a beep for educational purposes. To be honest I think it's good for the money. Batteries charged every two months. Granted, it turns on for half an hour every day, but it's still pretty decent in my book. There are two things that caused me to deduct a star. Out of the box it was set to 99 for vibration and shock performance. If someone did not realize that he was at this level, he would seriously hurt the dog. The buttons on the remote control take a little getting used to. If you are in beep mode, you need to press vibrate mode twice for it to work once. This applies to switching all modes. It's not bad, but you should be aware of what mode you're in and make sure you don't shock your dog twice.
