I cut my husband's hair. I used to use scissors, ostensibly for cutting hair, that I bought at a big store nearby. They cut smooth and fast. His haircut was done in record time. The difference between using these scissors and a pair of store bought hair scissors was like Friskers fabric scissors versus child safety scissors. So far I've only used scissors. I will use thinning scissors when I cut my son's hair. I can trim bangs and bangs around the face with a hair razor. I recommend these scissors for all home haircuts! Not sure how it compares to professional scissors but the blades are sharp, straight and fit snugly without binding. When I open and close the scissors and thinning scissors, I hear the blades move past each other along the entire length of the blade. Finger holes allow you to put your fingers through the holes. I've watched professional video tutorials that say fingertips only should be used for more control and agility. But I have arthritis. If I use scissors on my fingertips, I'm more likely to shoot up the scissors and stab someone. Probably myself.
