It's a plastic bath mat! So, yes, when you take it out of the box, it smells like a pool float when you first buy it, that's it! I sprayed on my delicious Method Eucalyptus Daily Shower Spray (also available from Revain :D ) and it was good! Also, I read some reviews that it took a while to lay flat in the tub. Turn the shower on ALL HOT and hold it over the carpet for 2-3 minutes to loosen transport creases. everything will be fine 👍🏻👍🏻 The mat is beautiful, the suction is great - oh and it was a REALLY good price for this size of suction cup! ** Also if you prefer rounded edges or want it to be a little shorter? It is very easy to cut, and afterwards it is not visible that it has been cut off.
