These types of dresses are difficult to wear if you are small and curvy. I'm 5ft 2in, 149lbs, W/W/H 40/31/41. I ordered size XL because I didn't want my chest line to look stretched. but a bit baggy at the lower back, at the waist and very long at the arms where the shoulders, arm length and the overall length of the dress meet. This is the story of my life and most of my fitted garments that I have to alter myself. I love the main pattern. The dress has an hourglass neckline and not a straight trumpet like most other dresses of this type. I ordered this for a costume party where I would have to change it anyway so it wouldn't bother me. I'm correcting this review to include sizing for ladies who are petite and curvy. Also, the color matches the color, mustard color which is an added bonus, and the color I need. This material looks more like lycra, so it has many advantages. I'm ordering a large so I can compare sizes before deciding which to keep. I will update my review as soon as I receive it. UPDATE: Just to make sure I ordered the right size, I ordered a large and a medium size so I can compare to the X-Large I was sticking with. I have updated my photos so you can see the difference in size and fit. The above images are displayed in the following order: XL, L, M. Each image set is grouped as front and side shots. I'm glad I did. Size XL is clearly too big, especially on the shoulders, arms, lower back, waist and overall length. L fits snugly on the chest, shoulders, waist and lower back. The overall length is still too big, but a quick hemming will fix that. I will keep that. M is clearly too narrow. It hugs all of my "plush" areas of the upper body. And of course the overall length was still too long. To even out this comparison, I used the same smoothing underwear for all three dresses. I don't wear spanks just because it's torture and I prefer to breathe. However, I wear smoothing underwear, which is comfortable to wear but smooths out bra and panty lines. For us short-sided ladies, be prepared to trim the length by adjusting the hem according to the size you ordered. Ladies, I hope this helps you!
