I really liked these plants. They looked very real. Now when I opened the package it smelled slightly but it's not a bad smell contrary to what others said. You just need to soak it in water for a while before putting it in the fish tank. Anyway, that's what you should do if you're buying fake plants instead of buying them online or in a store. Artificial plants should always be washed and dried before being placed in the aquarium. To be honest when you've spent a lot of money on your fish you always want to make sure EVERYTHING is cleaned, wiped and rinsed before adding anything to your aquarium as you don't want to contaminate it with anything else. For example, when you buy new fish, don't put them in the tank right away. If possible, you want to quarantine them to make sure the new fish doesn't infect your aquarium friends with bugs, disease, ichthyophthyria, etc. Then add this amazing fish to your aquarium. The same goes for artificial plants: you will ALWAYS wipe, clean and soak/flush them before adding them to the aquarium. I would recommend and buy again.
