If you've ironed thousands upon thousands of t-shirts, your eye will be pretty good at aligning the screen or transferring to fabric. For the rest of us, the alignment tool is a must, and this indexed template works great. Once you have aligned the curved opening with the collar, you have found the center of your shirt and are ready to place your design. The printed ruler on the guide also helps with vertical alignment if you don't want to place the design in the default position. There are no instructions in the pattern, but once you've sewn a few t-shirts it's pretty easy to figure out. Just don't bump into the arrow that aligns the two sides!
