Soft, cute, warm duvet. Fleece on one side and smooth velvet on the other. Silvery paw prints on the smooth side. Great. That's exactly what I expect from a blanket like this. As I lay on my knees, I immediately felt warm. I have adult quilts that are a similar style and I see nothing wrong with the way they look, feel or how they are made. As for the weight, I'm not sure what's suitable for short people. It's light but quite thick. Pretty warm. Once fleece mats are laid out (and they all do) they're easy to fluff up to keep them looking new - comb them out! It will be a long time before I have to do this, but as it's used more and more and eventually washed over and over again, the fluffy part will become dull and not as fluffy. Brushing will make it perfect again. Measures 30" x 40" ---- in my photo she is draped over a crib mattress (28" x 52") used as a dog bed. 100% Polyester - 200 gsm and Sherpa fleece with a density of 220 gsm. When the weather gets colder, she looks for blankets worthy of coziness. I also! Too small for me of course. but perfect for a dog, kitten or toddler looking for a hug. Comes in a matching bow - a gift!
